The road has since been rerouted, but back then, the steep, curved slope was quite difficult to climb. It is said to have been the site of several accidents or mishaps. According to another theory, this secluded spot, located on a remote road, was known to Parking enthusiasts: « New couples would get together there. If your wife caught you there, the kid would get it. »
The Acadian word « chiard » seems to be used here figuratively, referring to both road accidents and marital disputes!
